INAUGURATION CEREMONY AND GALA NIGHT OF SPAIN-BANGLADESH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
The inauguration ceremony and Gala Night of the Spain Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held remarkably on the evening of 19 April, 2016 at Le Meridien, a 5-star Chain Hotel in Dhaka.
The Auspicious ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, His Excellency Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam, the Honorable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were H.E. Mr. Eduardo de Laiglesia, Honorable Ambassador of Spain in Bangladesh and H.E. Mr. Pierre Mayaudon, Honorable Ambassador and Head of Delegation of European Union, Dhaka who attended the ceremony as guests of honour. The function was presided over by Ms. Nuria Lopez, President of SBCCI and concluding speech with thanks to all were delivered by Mr. Ashik Elahi Chowdhuty, the Secretary General of SBCCI. A great number of foreign and local dignitaries were present in this auspicious gathering including ambassadors, diplomats, business personnel and elites of the society.
The Chief Guest pointed out the importance of bilateral trade and commerce between Spain and Bangladesh and expressed hope to extend all cooperation from govt. regarding this endeavour. The Guest of Honors also expressed their desire to be a part of development of
Bangladesh through activities of the chamber to be beneficial to the greater landscape of global development in general and to our country and Spain in particular. Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, Sr. Secretary of Commerce, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh gave a brief description of the formation of SBCCI and reiterated present govt.’s determination to uphold the dignity of the country allowing all nations to come forward to multilateral business through concentration of positive efforts mobilized by different foreign/local joint chambers working in the country.
The first Executive Committee of SBCCI comprised of the following renowned business personnel of Spain and Bangladesh who were humbly introduced to the audience with the outburst of their aspirations for constructive achievement in the arena of bilateral trade and commerce between Spain and Bangladesh .
